First-time home buyers search Foreclosed Homes for Sale could help speed up the recovery of the housing market.
According to data from the National Association of Realtors, 50 percent of total homes sold in the first quarter were purchased by first-time home buyers and nearly 50 percent of these sales were sales of distressed properties, which included Listings of Foreclosed Homes for Sale and short sales.

Susan Sirles Fidler, a realtor at Re/Max, who works with mortgage lenders in Illinois, said more mortgage lenders are willing to reduce the prices of their foreclosed homes.
Previously, she observed, banks held on to properties and refused to reduce their prices.
She said attractive home prices have caused a significant increase in purchase offers.
Sanjiv Das, CEO of CitiMortgage, said he is encouraged by the increase in sales of bank-owned forclosure homes. He said his company is actively offering mortgage loans to buyers who are owner occupants.
According to Marki Lemmons of Rubloff Residential Properties, finding a good house from inventories of foreclosure homes requires patients, strength and determination. He said first-time homebuyers who are determined to find bargains need to know that some foreclosure houses have broken bathroom fixtures, molds, vandalized walls and water system damages.
But they also need to have the ability to create a vision of a good home out of forclosure homes dirtied by vandals and squatters.
Nevertheless, there are many foreclosure homes for sale in california which are in good shape because mortgage lenders have been rewarding evicted homeowners who leave the properties in good conditions.
